I arrived in Sydney today after a hectic morning filled with travel. A truly interesting day. All I’m going to say about it is that I almost died and extremely painful death on the flight down (the bursting of the brain (I’m still feeling strong pains 8 hours later)).
The train? Well, a strange journey through the city with just my two stubborn sisters and a lot of luggage.. It’s weired to see how much people change when heading from one end of the state to the other. This is exciting.
Anyway, story of the day! A car crashed and I heard it. I got to the scene about a minute after the incident occured, and there was a pretty serious smash to a BMW. I would not be happy if I owned it. The two old ladies were all good after it, one just a little razzled, so that’s all good.
So, I’m pretty stoked to be in Sydney with my camera, and I’m now prepared to charge the city with it, I think. Just along those lines, my Grandpa happened to own some old Minolta’s I discovered today (one of the old rangefinders from the 30-40’s, and an old SLR. Not sure how old it is). These are pretty nice camera’s, and he was an absolute legend to have given one to me! But, Camille (the eldest), is a hipster right, so she (having no interest in camera’s untill this old vintage beast turned up) HAD to have it, and she owns no camera’s, so therefore my Grandpa felt sympathetic and gave the rangefinder to her. I was devostated. 100%. That camera will sit on a shelf, and it’ll just sit there, rotting away.. Not happy about that at all.
First up, this is my first legit post. Second, please excuse my shit writing skills.
Ok, so today is possibly my last day in Byron Bay. Its Australia day, and I’m so stoked for the Shackles (www.myspace.com/shackleshc) show tonight at the YAC and also for heading down to Sydney tomorrow morning. I’ve just recently started photography about 3 weeks ago, and I just got a new Nikkor AF-D 50mm 1.4 lens for my Nikon D90. I’m pretty stoked on life. But yeah, back to the title.
Soon I am embarking on an epic journey to some unknown destination in the U.K. Going over in 2 weeks or so to scout out some decent schools. Getting a butterfly’s already. But I’m excited for getting some new locations to take pictures! I’ve been stuck in my neighbourhood like area for weeks (I’m currently in a very rural area up on a hill) so I’m stoked to get out.
Anyway, I would like to learn how to post pictures on this so I can show my adventures.
